Hunting and fishing are the main activities practiced at zec Mitchinamecus. Most members are hunters or fishers, or practice either activity. Moreover, an estimated 60 % of all seasonal campers engage in these activities. |

|
Turning to sport fishing, the species include: smallmouth bass, northern pike, walleye, yellow perch, lake charr and brook charr. Of these species, the two most coveted are walleye and brook charr. Several development initiatives focusing on these two species have been under way such as stocking lakes, revival of spawning grounds, etc. |

Zone of handing-over to water on all the water levels of the zec Mitchinamecus. It is forbidden to catch and keep, or to have in one's possession, a walleye measuring less than 35 cm in length from the waters of the territory of Zec Mitchinamecus. Fillets must be 23 cm or greater in length with the skin adhering completely to the flesh over its entire length.

Species hunted
|
The zec offers hunting packages for the following species: moose, black bear, waterfowl (duck, snow goose, Canada goose), ruffed grouse, spruce grouse, American woodcock and snowshoe hare. Moose is by far the most coveted game species. |

Calf hunting is prohibited all time. For 2010, moose with wood of 10 cm and more permited. |

Zec users are avid quad and snowmobile enthusiasts. This explains the vast quad and snowmobile trail network spread out over the territory.

The visitor reception centres of the MacLean fall and the money lake are in service of at the beginning of May at the end of October. Registrations can be made from 6:00 a.m. to 22:00 p.m. during the regular season. Out of these hours, you have to pay $3.00 by car.
It should be noted that in the absence of the employee you must be recorded. The forms are available inside the verandas of each station of reception.

The zec Mitchinamecus has an office to register big game.
Other services are available near the zec such as drugstore, hospital, touritst information (within 100 km), gas station, grocery store and convenience store (within 10 or 27 km). |

The zec has 6 campsites adding up an offer of 379 sites, of which 362 are seasonal and 17 are of short stay. Two visitor's reception centres control the access to the territory. The first is close to the Poles Lake (d'Argent Lake) and second is located at the Mclean Falls. |
